Pieces of My Heart is my extended shrine to Axel and Roxas, from both the animanga and game adaptations. ♥ it's currently under quite a bit of construction since I'm working on another one first (so I don't let either die), but this is more likely to be here sooner than you think! It covers Roxas, Axel, and of course, their relationship together. One word of warning - I support the romance side here, so the site is yaoi friendly.

A Fanlisting is a group of people who like something; ie a group of people who like Wolves. All a fanlisting is is a list of fans to do with that particular person, item, or object; it joins together people with similar intrests. Why? Where do I even start with how much I like these two. The first point to make is that, hands down, I can say that I'm not really a fan of yaoi - now think about this again. What lengths have these two together gone to to make me like them more as simply a friendship, but to lovers as well? Great lengths, I can tell you. This pairing has grown on me over time. When I first started playing Kingdom Hearts II, I didn't like Axel; I thought he was weird and strange, you name it, I just didn't like him. I didn't like Roxas either. But they as seperate characters crept up on me till I liked them as much as the main cast and characters that I had previously loved. And also the underlying sense of loyalty and trust they once had for one another occured to me as well. All that time they spent together in the Organization, and so on. Before I knew it, I'd finished the game, and these two came to mind, and they just growing on me. Now, years on from that time, I still have the same reaction as I do then: seeing them together makes me smile. Whether on screen, in the manga, or in the game, whichever - I'm always smiling about them.For the pairing and friendship itself, there's certain levels that grew on me first. The first one is the pure randomness of the relationship when they first 'meet' in Twilight Town, when Roxas is in the situation. Of Axel almost being a stalker and Roxas being scared out of his wits. That amused me, and drew me in. Then there was the angst and sorrow over the fact Axel remembered Roxas but Roxas didn't remember him. That broke my heart. And that led onto the serious side of things. Axel really does love Roxas, whether it be friends as it's probably intended, or lovers as I'd like to believe it is. It transpires both side of things in my opinion. As I've said, Axel does love him - he even admits it, well, as far as he's allowed to, being a Disney inclusive thing and all. I've considered things more and more, and they've made me cry, they've drawn me in, they've never quite let me go ever, no matter what fandom I next get into. It's so darn sad, this pairing. There's nothing closer to canon. I love pairings for adversary: I'm so horrible. And these two go through their fair amount of adversary; the organization, being nobodies, and so forth.
Anyways.. when I saw this fanlisting open for apps, I was so excited and spent ages debating on to apply or not in both places. As you can probably tell, I'm glad I did for tfl, and I'm glad I took the opportunity from Samantha to adopt the game fanlisting too, since they are my original love for them, though the manga is awesome in its own way (point: the end of volume 1). This is one of my big wishlisters, and sometimes I wonder how it got there. They just.. crept up on me, and before I knew it, I was obsessed.

This fanlisting has gone through a lot of names; for me, it was previously helloGoodbye, whilst the game version has previously been known as The Last Sundown and Day After Next. Now, it's known as In Another Life.Due to this being one of my biggest all time wishlisters, I had the biggest nightmare trying to come up with a name for my darling. My first rule was not to take the shrine name - that is, Pieces of My Heart - and carry it over. When the fanlisting was just the animefanlisting, the name I used was helloGoodbye, since I thought that fit. But as time went on, I began to dislike it, and when the two fanlistings were brought together, I decided it was time for a brand new name to celebrate, since I had been thinking about one for a while. That's when I settled on, with help from my friends, on In Another Life.
I've always pondered 'Another Life' as being a good name, but 'In' just sums it up for me. It's the song by The Veronicas that inspired me to name this fanlisting this afterall. It really does fit Axel, and Roxas, as Axel says to Roxas that they should 'meet again in the next life', even though they don't have one. Roxas sees Axel one last time before he rejoins with Sora - there's a lot of meetings between them, and it would be nice to think that next time, maybe things would work out better between them, and they wouldn't be nonexistant beings doomed to fade out into nothing-ness. That they could be whole people - and that they could meet each other again in another life and start over.
